People supporting each other in warm golden light

Heart on Fire Support Network

You are not alone.

We walk beside burn survivors, trauma survivors, families in crisis, and young adults ; offering compassion, community, and a path toward healing.

No Burn Survivor Should Heal Alone.

Heart on Fire Support Network provides financial assistance, emotional support, community connection, and practical resources to help burn survivors rebuild their lives after injury.

How We Help

Real support. Real people. Real change.

From emergency housing assistance to peer connection and community.  Our programs address the full spectrum of what survivors need to heal and move forward.

Rent Assistance

Stability starts with a roof overhead. We connect survivors and families in crisis with emergency rental support so they can focus on healing  not just survival.

Peer Support

Sometimes the most powerful voice is one that truly understands. Our trained peer supporters,  many of them survivors themselves,  walk alongside you with lived empathy.

Survivor Community

Healing happens in community. Our survivor network creates a space of belonging where burn survivors, trauma survivors, and their families find connection and shared strength.

Volunteer Opportunities

Give your time, your skills, and your heart. Volunteers are the backbone of our network and many find that giving back becomes its own path to healing.

Donations

Every contribution, large or small, directly funds programs, peer support, and resources for those who need them most. Your generosity changes lives.

Partnerships

We collaborate with hospitals, shelters, schools, and community organizations to ensure survivors are never left without a warm hand to reach for.

What the world sees

Burn recovery & visible wounds

The Surface

What lies beneath

Hidden trauma
Emotional pain
Loss of identity
Fear & isolation
Grief & shame

Our Framework

The Heartberg Model™

Seeing the whole person,  not just the surface.

Like an iceberg, what the world sees after a burn or trauma — the scars, the crisis, the visible wound  is only a fraction of what a survivor carries. Beneath the surface lies hidden trauma, emotional pain, grief, and a loss of identity that the medical system often never addresses.

The Heartberg Model™ is our proprietary framework for whole-person recovery. It guides how we listen, how we support, and how we design every program  ensuring we meet survivors at the depth of their experience, not just the surface of their circumstances.

Developed through nearly three decades of work in education, wellness, athletics, leadership development, and recovery, this model is the heart of everything we do.
